Now Jesus is left alone with the woman standing in the midst. Now watch what happens in verse 10…
You need to really let those words of Jesus sink in. He is talking to you right now. Close your eyes and just let these words of Jesus speak to your heart… “Neither do I condemn you…”
Hear me friends…
There is no condemnation at the feet of Jesus
I remember as a teenager, wrestling with my view of God, especially in those moments when I had sinned or messed up. It was hard for me to see God as someone I could run to when I sinned. Inside I was feeling all kinds of intense emotions of guilt and condemnation. I had this picture of God in my head that if I blew it, that in prayer I had to somehow convince God to be forgiving. Especially since I understood that we are leaving in the judgment hour, that if I wasn’t right with God I’d be lost. It wasn’t until I began to slowly understand the Gospel, that I could see the beauty of His character. And then all of the teachings of scripture that I knew (as a Seventh-day Adventist Christian, including the Judgment) became wonderfully good news to me. It was as I got to know Jesus that I could see the love of God for me. I began to understand that His grace is for me!
It is as you experience the love of God through Jesus that you begin to understand what Paul says in his letter to the Christians in Rome:
Friends if you want to know how God feels about sinners, hear the words of Christ…
Listen to what Ellen says happened to this sinner at Jesus feet...
Friends, believe the Good News of the Gospel today. If you find yourself sinking deep in sin, like this woman caught in the act of adultery, I beg you to please hear the words of Christ speaking to your heart the words… “Neither do I condemn you…”
